Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority focused on growth for the future

Macon, GA – Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority (MBCIA) hosted a leadership retreat today to identify short and long-range priorities and coalesce community partners around their strategic plan.

“Success does not happen by luck; it happens when a comprehensive plan is developed by leadership and carried out by an award-winning staff,” said Robby Fountain, Chairman of the Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority. We have been fortunate to have a host of stakeholders who not only understand and love our community but also want to be involved in our strategic planning process that will position our community for success in the future.”

Board members and staff held breakout sessions to discuss their sector of the strategic plan, including workforce, sites & buildings, target industries & incentives, marketing, and the airport. These conversations will help guide the plan of action for MBCIA in their future industry recruitment efforts.

Board member Mayor Lester Miller states, “Taking the time to gather as a team, focus on where we have been, and where we want our community to go shows why Macon-Bibb County is a great place to live and work. MBCIA is invested in growing our community strategically and the plan we created today is a testament to that.”

The Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority serves as the lead agency for attracting new business investment, encouraging the expansion of existing industries, and improving the quality of life in the Macon-Bibb County area.
