“Macon-Bibb County continues to show we are open for business, as Coca-Cola Bottling Co. UNITED’s investment marks another milestone for local industry expansion,” Robby Fountain, Chairman of the Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority, announced following the recent approval of an $80 million expansion project. “The commitment of Coca-Cola Bottling Co. UNITED, a longstanding community partner, is a testament to the business culture we’ve built here.”
The Macon Coca-Cola facility expansion, which adds approximately 260,000 square feet to the current warehouse, is expected to generate 50 new jobs while maintaining nearly 200 existing positions.nd further enhances our capacity to deliver for customers across 18 counties.”
With support from Central Georgia Technical College and the Hutchings College and Career Academy, Coca-Cola UNITED is also laying the groundwork for the future workforce by developing pathways for career-ready graduates in Macon-Bibb County. “When a company doesn’t just bring jobs but invests in people, it drives lasting community success,” added Mayor Lester Miller.
Construction is expected to begin soon on the expanded warehouse, which will feature the cutting-edge Vertique warehousing system—one of the most advanced in the beverage industry. This enhancement will optimize distribution for the entire greater Macon region.
The project broke ground in February, with community partners, local leaders, and a special guest appearance by the Coca-Cola Polar Bear.
