“Boogook Georgia’s selection of Macon for its first U.S. facility underscores our region’s growing significance in the automotive supply chain,” said Mayor Lester M. Miller. “Our location in Georgia, with rapid access to major highways and an established logistics network, makes Macon a premier destination for companies looking to expand efficiently and strategically.”
Boogook Georgia, LLC, a subsidiary of South Korea-based Boogook Industries, is redeveloping an existing site at the Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority (MBCIA) Industrial Park on Weaver Road, a move representing a $6.8 million investment. The company specializes in fluid-carrying systems for vehicles, serving major automotive clients like Hyundai and Kia. Their new location will enhance distribution capacity and provide strategic advantages, aligning with the area’s proximity to automotive powerhouses, such as Hyundai Motor’s Metaplant America in Savannah and Kia’s West Point manufacturing facility.
With improvements planned for the site and a target launch in 2024, Boogook’s expansion is expected to generate 80 new full-time jobs in fields including management, manufacturing, assembly, quality assurance, and logistics. The Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority and the Middle Georgia region are set to benefit from these new roles and the company’s specialized industry expertise.
“Macon’s strategic location is a significant asset for companies like Boogook Georgia,” said Stephen Adams, Executive Director of the MBCIA. “This expansion bolsters our automotive industry and strengthens Macon as a key hub for automotive suppliers. We’re excited to witness Boogook Georgia’s growth in Middle Georgia, contributing to both economic advancement and job creation.”
As Boogook Georgia, LLC establishes its first U.S. operation, Macon gains another international industry leader, further highlighting the city’s capability to support global business expansion through connectivity and innovation.
