In his capacity with MBCIA, Stephen Adams has worked with multiple company locations and expansions over the last nine years, representing nearly $1.4 billion in new investment and over 3,000 new jobs in Macon-Bibb County.

Stephen Adams was named Executive Director of the Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority. Stephen was born and raised in Macon, GA. He graduated from Central High School in 2001 and received a Bachelor of Science in Business and Information Technologies with an emphasis on Marketing from Middle Georgia State University.

After interning with the Macon Economic Development Commission, Stephen was hired as the Project Manager for the Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority in June 2009. Since joining the Authority, Stephen has served as Director of Operations, Project Manager, Economic Development Director, and as the Acting Executive Director. 

As Acting Executive Director for the Authority, Stephen served as the single point of contact for all new locations and industry expansions in Macon-Bibb County. Stephen has worked with multiple company locations and expansions over the last nine years, representing nearly $1.4 billion in new investment and over 3,000 new jobs in Macon-Bibb County. Those industries include Tractor Supply Company, Kumho Tire, Aspen Products, Pactiv LLC, Mr. Chips, Freudenberg, and First Quality. 

During 2017, Stephen facilitated deals that assisted Tyson Foods and Graphic Packaging to expand their operations, as well as assist in the new locations for Irving Consumer Products, Star Snacks, and Amazon.com. Most notably, the Authority was awarded the Industry Deal of the Year by the Atlanta Business Chronicle for its work in getting Amazon located in Macon-Bibb County.

Stephen is a member of the International Economic Development Council, South Eastern Economic Development Association, Middle GA Economic Alliance, Georgia Economic Developers Association, Macon Economic Development Commission, One Macon, and Middle GA State Alumni Association.
