MACON, Ga., Oct. 10, 2024 — The Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority (MBCIA) hosted its Fall Community Partner Bus Tour on Wednesday, offering participants an inside look at various industries and their industrial parks across Macon-Bibb County. 

 Representees from key local institutions, including the Bibb County School District, Central Georgia Technical College, Macon Bibb County, Middle Georgia State University, and local real estate agents, joined the tour to explore how industrial development is shaping the region. 

“These tours are important because they showcase what happens here in Macon,” said Stephen Adams, Executive Director, Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority. “By taking our community partners on this tour, we can educate them on what the Industrial Authority does and how it impacts the entire county.”

The tour visited several parks, including I-75 Business Park, Airport East Industrial Park, Sofkee Industrial Park, Allied Industrial Park, and Ocmulgee East Industrial Park. A stop at Irving Consumer Products in Sofkee Industrial Park provided participants with a brief overview of the company’s products and facilities.  

“The industrial authority is a crucial component to the success of Macon-Bibb,” said Stanley Stewart, Macon-Bibb County Commissioner Elect, District 3. “I am committed to helping this all too important authority in making our beloved city better on a local, state, national and international level.” 

Participants also received a ‘swag bag’ featuring the newly printed FY24 MBCIA Annual Report and various swag items.
