Key highlights from the MBCIA June meeting included details on community partnerships to enhance the industry pipeline, prospect activity, a farewell to two long-time board members, welcoming a new board member, industry job opportunities, property management, and marketing activities.

We said farewell to two board members: Walt Miller and Tony Rojas. During Walt’s tenure that began in 2014, he helped secure $2,800,606,000 and during Tony’s tenure that began in 2013, he helped secure $2,850,606,000 in private new investments for Macon-Bibb County.

We welcomed Ember Bishop Bentley as our newest member to the board.

The Executive Director’s Report showed that prospect activity is steady. There are currently 26 open projects with a potential investment of more than $500 million and more than 3,600 potential jobs.

In May, Executive Director, Stephen Adams, sat on the panel for the 2021 GEDA Spring Workshop to discuss a project for Irving Tissue.
