“Today was a good day.”
That is how MBCIA Project Manager Gary Wilson described his experience during Leadership Macon’s Economic Development Day, presented by the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce. Gary is a member of the 2025 Leadership Macon Class, a nearly year-long program that introduces rising community leaders to Macon’s successes and challenges. Through monthly sessions, participants meet with decision-makers, explore key issues, and build relationships that strengthen our region’s future.
Economic Development Day is one part of that journey, giving the class a closer look at how new industries are recruited, how existing companies are supported, and how quality of life impacts growth. MBCIA was honored to share our perspective alongside other community partners, with site visits, project highlights, and a stop at the award-winning Macon Water Authority.
For Gary, the day was both professional and personal.
“I have spent four and a half years watching Stephen Adams’ love for Macon spill out to every corporate prospect who visits. Seeing my classmates light up with the same pride I feel was powerful. Every detail, from how we care for our neighbors to how we keep our streets clean, shapes how companies see us. They are not just investing in land. They are investing in a community worth calling home.”
MBCIA is grateful to the Greater Macon Chamber for creating meaningful opportunities like Leadership Macon that inspire participants to lead with knowledge, pride, and a vision for a stronger community.
