Cherry Blossom Festival
Each March, Macon becomes a pink, cotton-spun paradise as over 350,000 Yoshino cherry trees bloom in all their glory. For 10 days, festival-lovers are treated to one of the most extravagant displays of springtime color in the nation as they visit the town referred to by Congressional Records as the Cherry Blossom Capital of the World.
Macon Beer Fest
Started in 2010, the Macon Beer Fest has grown into one of Georgia’s premier craft beer events. The event offers over 50 varieties of beer for its regular ticket holders and several additional special beers for its VIP guests. What makes the event unique, is that its purpose is to educate men about the risks of prostate cancer. You can say it’s a health fair disguised as a beer festival – It’s a party for a cause!
Macon Magnolia's Soapbox Derby
The #SecondSaturday of April brings out the competitor in everyone as teams of homemade soap box racers vie to be named the fastest or most creative car in a thrilling race down the steep hill of Magnolia Street, beside the College Hill Corridor’s beautiful Washington Park in one of Macon’s friendliest neighborhoods, InTown.
Macon Mayhem
Macon's Mercer University is the only private university in Georgia with an NCAA Division I athletic program and fields teams in eight men's and nine women's sports. The university competes in the Southern Conference for most sports.
